The 40-year-old starter

I want to pitch a movie about a 40-year-old sourdough starter who finds true love with a 30-something vegan after she uses part of him to make the best pizza ever. Do you think Hollywood will be interested?!?

I would also like to add that if you can snag some eggplant, it's a great idea to slide it thinly into strips, then grill it over wood chips so it gets all smoky, THEN use those strips on pizza (see above) or in place of noodles in a lasagna:

  1. Sourdough pizza? Oh yeah, I go see the feature film starring that. Sounds great. That pizza looks to die for too, so does the lasagna. I love smokey eggplant. I must try the wood chip thing. I actually bought some for trying a little makeshift smoker on my stove top.

  2. I wouldn't know how to grill something over wood chips! I'd watch the movie. For sure.

  4. Thanks, ladies!
WRT the wood chips, you're still grilling over charcoal--all you do is soak some hickory (or apple, or maple etc) chips in water, then dump them on the hot coals. The effect of the smoke the chips put off is AMAZING, esp for things like eggplant and tofu, which tend to be naturally absorbent. Corn on the cob is pretty f-ing fab this way, too. Try it!
Carissa, thank you for the warm welcome, and congrats on your pregnancy :)!
